Our Role

Built as part of the Jubilee Line extension, the Canary Wharf tube station was opened in 1999 to help alleviate pressure from the DLR.  Within 5 years of opening, the station was upgraded in order to accommodate more commuters and became one of the busiest stations outside of Central London, serving over 50 million commuters in 2013.  It is also the busiest single line station on the underground network.  The station was voted London’s “Most Loved” tube station in a YouGov poll.
