Canary Wharf has changed enormously over the last 30 years. When it was first developed in the 1980s, it was one of the largest construction projects in Europe and transformed a derelict area of London into a bustling financial district. Today, Canary Wharf is home to some of the world’s largest banks and businesses, and is a major hub with is own Crossrail link. The area has had a positive social impact, with new schools, parks and community facilities being developed in recent years. There are plans to build even more office space and new residential towers in the coming years, so Canary Wharf is sure to continue to evolve and grow.
